  Aerodynamics

  The surface technology used on the synergie match ball is unique to GILBERT and arose by combining the pimple patterns of the Xact and Xact – 7 match balls and applying fundamental aerodynamic principles.
   
  Research

  Extensive research involving some of the world’s top players has supported theoretical data produced by Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) and High Speed video analysis.

   
  Physics
  Physical samples of balls were laser scanned and then tested in a virtual turbulence model using real values in order to determine the effects of pimple pattern on Lift and Drag forces and, ultimately, the kicking and passing characteristics of different rugby balls.

Every Synergie Match Ball made is made using the same compound and the same bladder and backing material - the only difference is the pigment used to alter the colour, and the club/sponsor printing on the ball.
Neither of these can affect the way the ball plays.

The balls do feel different when they are first used, because the reaction laminate construction takes a few sessions to reach maximum performance.
